Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to announce their engagement next week, perhaps as early as Tuesday, it has been claimed.

The pair finalised plans in a series of meetings with royal courtiers last week.

And word got out that the BBC has been “primed for a royal announcement.”

It is expected the announcement will be made this coming week, perhaps on Tuesday when Prime Minister Theresa May is scheduled to hold a regular cabinet meeting.

The pair are thought to have been putting off a public announcement because they’re busy sorting out their living arrangements.

It’s been reported that the 36-year-old actress has already started unpacking her bags at Harry’s royal residence Nottingham Cottage within the grounds of Kensington Palace, having flown into London this month.

The couple are now hoping to purchase a country retreat in the Cotswolds – to give them the privacy they crave away from their official royal residence.

“They are trying to sort a few things out first,” a source told the Daily Star.

“They are house hunting for a retreat and other things, but it will be up to them to decide.”

The source added: “Meghan is now staying at Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace.

“She and Harry are a very private couple, and Her Majesty has said he (Harry) hasn’t got the same responsibility as William which I know Harry is very happy with.”

According to an insider, it’s happening people

It was claimed that palace staff had been called to a mysterious “big meeting” last week.

Employees were informed of an engagement and given details about the actual wedding itself, according to some reports.

Staff from Buckingham and Kensington Palaces were called to a meeting on Friday afternoon, where, in front of the Queen, they were told that Harry and Meghan are engaged and that they’ll be having a “non-traditional wedding.”

“Her Majesty said Harry hasn’t got the same responsibility as William which I know Harry is very happy with,” a source told the Daily Star.

A spokesperson for Buckingham Palace has responded to the mounting engagement chatter, insisting to Hello! magazine that they will “not give a running commentary on Harry’s love life”.

Bookies have now suspended bets on when the nuptials might take place (the money’s on a 2018 wedding), and in case you needed any more convincing, here’s every single sign that screams ENGAGEMENT…

Meghan quit Suits

Meghan played lawyer Rachel Zane for six years, joining the cast in 2011 and starring in the show for seven series.

But in October there were reports that she had quit the show in order to focus on being a royal consort.

Given that Suits was her main source of income, many were left wondering what she would do for money.
It’s thought she won’t be able to continue acting once she’s married into the royal family

But it seems she is certain she and Harry will marry soon – meaning she’ll no longer be able to continue acting.

“Meghan knows she can’t really act at the same time as being a princess and is happy to make this career sacrifice,” a source told the Daily Star.

“She really enjoys her charity work with Unicef and will broaden out her charity commitments when she becomes a full-time royal.”

Nicky Bursic, who works on Suits as Meghan’s body double, shared a sweet message in mid-November when it was confirmed Meghan was leaving the show after filming wrapped.

Posting a snap of the two of them cuddled up together on Instagram, Nicky commented: “It’s been an absolute pleasure and honour being your ‘stand-in’ for the last 2 seasons.

“Though I’ve been on @suits_usa for 6 years, the latter 2 has been my most memorable. Wishing you all the happiness in the world Bella.”

Nicky then added the hashtag ‘#youdeserveitall’, which many took to hint at Meghan’s royal future.

Meghan’s already moved in

It’s been reported that the 36-year-old actress has already started unpacking her bags at Harry’s royal residence Nottingham Cottage within the grounds of Kensington Palace, having flown into London this month.

The apartment was the first marital home of Prince William and Kate Middleton when they married in 2011, until they moved out of the capital to Norfolk when Prince George arrived.

It’s described as private, cosy and self-contained – the perfect spot for newlyweds.

Harry’s diary is freed up next week

Harry’s diary is open to the public and shows no official events lined up between now and the end of the year.

If he’s cleared his schedule, there’s a possibility he’s done so in order to whisk Meghan away on a romantic couples holiday in order to pop the question.

The evidence? She was spotted leaving a swimwear boutique in west London last week. Could she be stocking up on bits for a sun-drenched break?
Meghan’s dogs are relocating to London

Aside from Harry, Meghan has two very hairy love interests: Guy and Bogart.

But Harry doesn’t need to get too jealous as the cute fiends are Meghan’s rescue dogs, who up until recently lived with her in Toronto while she filmed Suits.

Reports claim Meghan has made arrangements to leave them in the care of her mum in LA until she’s able to complete the documentation to bring them over to London.

Unfortunately it won’t happen overnight – dogs being brought into the UK usually have to be microchipped, have evidence of a rabies vaccination and paperwork confirming they don’t have tapeworm, so it may take a while before Bogart and Guy are making friends with the Queen’s beloved corgis.

Bookies suspend bets on the next royal wedding

Yesterday, Ladbrokes revealed they’d stopped taking bets on the year of Harry and Meghan’s wedding – widely thought to be 2018.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes told Mirror Online: “All bets are off and it looks like it’s time for Her Majesty to go hat shopping.

“The playboy prince has finally settled down and found the one, and royal watchers will be thrilled at their engagement announcement,” she added.
She’s already met the Queen.

Audiences with Her Maj are rare and private events – and she doesn’t take tea with just anything.

Engagement-watchers were in full twitchy mode in October when Meghan and Harry turned up to Buckingham Palace to share tea and cake with the monarch.

While their meeting was reportedly informal and kept on the down-low, it’s important for any members of the royal family to have the Queen’s blessing for their future spouse.
The timing would be similar to William and Kate’s engagement

Prince William and Kate announced their engagement in November 2010

Prince William and Kate Middleton – now the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – told the world they were engaged on Tuesday 16 November 2010, after he popped the question to her on holiday.

He proposed with his mum Princess Diana’s priceless engagement ring – the sapphire and diamond one given to her by her ex-husband Prince Charles.

As Kate now wears the eye-catching ring at all of her public appearances, it’s unlikely she’d pass it on to Harry and Meghan.

If a November announcement happens, the happy couple could repeat the Cambridges’ experience by holding their wedding in April 2018.

Kate and Wills tied the knot in the stunning Westminster Abbey in London on Friday April 29 2011.

Because of the timing, their wedding gave the British public an extra day off work in the form of a bonus bank holiday.

Sadly, that won’t be the case with Harry and Meghan’s wedding as Harry is not directly in line to the throne.
