Floyd Mayweather defends Donald Trump over “grab them by the p***y” comment

Donald Trump has a fan in Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather.

The President of the United States of America came in for heavy criticism last October when footage of a 2005 conversation between Trump and television host Billy Bush was released by the American media.

After suggesting he might end up kissing an unnamed woman, Trump explained how he felt that he could do what he wanted because of his star power.

“Yeah, that’s her, with the gold. I’ve got to use some Tic Tacs, just in case I start kissing her,” Trump said, via the Los Angeles Times. “You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful—I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. I just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything.”

“Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything,” he added.

The offensive comments resulted in almost universal condemnation, given their sexist nature, but the recently retired 50-0 boxer has thrown his backing behind Trump.

During an interview with Hollywood Unlocked this week, via Chris Yuscavage of Complex.com, Mayweather explained how Trump’s remarks were typical of how “real men” speak to one another.

“People don’t like the truth… He speak like a real man spoke,” Mayweather said. “Real men speak like, ‘Man, she had a fat ass. You see her ass? I had to squeeze her ass. I had to grab that fat ass.’ Right?

“So he talking locker room talk. Locker room talk. ‘I’m the man, you know what I’m saying? You know who I am. Yeah, I grabbed her by the pussy. And?'”

“I feel people shy away from realness,” he added. “This man didn’t do nothing. Listen, if y’all didn’t want the man in the White House, y’all should have voted the other way. It ain’t like he went and robbed—he done his homework. He did what he had to do and he got there.”

Mayweather attended Trump’s inauguration ceremony in January and has met Trump, who often sat front row at boxing matches prior to his presidency, in the past.

“I just wanted to say I did it one time in my life,” Mayweather said of his presence at the inauguration. “It didn’t matter who the president was. I just wanted to go to be a part of it, to see how it is.”
